A Union County Deputy is on Administrative Leave Pending an Investigation by TBI

A Union County deputy has been placed on paid administrative
leave pending allegations reported to the Union County Sheriff’s Department
according to Union County Sheriff Billy Breeding.

Breeding states that the Union County Sheriff’s Office received
a report of an incident which allegedly involved the deputy on February 1, 2019,
and the deputy was placed on administrative leave the same day.

The circumstances behind the allegations and incident are
unknown at this time, and the sheriff says the deputy’s name and circumstances are
being withheld pending the results of the investigation. Breeding says that a
report was filed, and the information was turned over to the 8th
Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler’s Office and the Tennessee
Bureau of Investigation.

TBI confirmed to the Union News Leader on Tuesday, February 19,
2019 that they had been requested to open an investigation into allegations involving
a Union County deputy; however, they were unable to provide further details.
