Notice is Hereby Given that on the 15th day of March, 2024, Letters Testamentary, (or of Administration as the case may be), in respect of the Estate of Ethel Edna Keene McCarty, deceased, who died January 1, 2024, were issued to the undersigned by the Clerk and Master of the Chancery Court of Union County, Tennessee.
All persons, resident and non-resident having claims, matured or unmatured, against the Estate are required to file the same in triplicate with the Clerk of the above maned Court on or before the earlier of the dates prescribed in (1), or (2) otherwise their claims will be forever barred:
(1) (A) Four (4) months from the date of the first publication (or posting, as the case may be) of this notice if the creditor received an actual copy of this notice to creditors at least sixty (60) days before the date that is four months from the date of the first publication (or posting); or

State Forest Timber Sale Public Notice

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Forestry Division, is offering for sale under Bid # A-04-24-04 and A-04-24-05 certain timber on Chuck Swan State Forest near Sharps Chapel, Tennessee. Sealed bids will be received in the East Tennessee District office of the Division of Forestry, located at 2416 Fletcher Luck Lane Knoxville, TN 37996, until 11:00 AM on May 23, 2024, at which time they will be publicly opened. The Forestry Division estimates, but does not guarantee, that 770,049 board feet (Doyle Rule) of sawtimber is available for removal.
Only bids submitted on bid forms furnished by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Forestry Division, will be considered. The successful bidder will be required to sign a timber sale contract, at which time he will pay the full purchase price and post a performance bond equaling Seven (7) percent of the sale price of the timber. Each of these amounts will be in the form of a certified check payable to the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Forestry Division (separate checks will be required).
Forestry Division personnel will conduct a tour of the sale area on Tuesday May 07, 2024. Those interested should meet at 3500 Sharps Chapel Rd. Sharps Chapel, TN 37866 on Chuck Swan State Forest at 09:00 a.m.

NOTICE OF CITY OF PLAINVIEW ELECTION
TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2024
Notice is hereby given that the regular city election for the City of Plainview has been called for the purpose of electing One (1) Mayor and Two (2) Alderman seats whose terms of office have expired. The terms of office are four years. The City Election will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Plainview Community Center. Polls will open at 9:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.
This election is open to all registered voters who reside within the city limits of Plainview. Qualifying deadline is NOON, March 21, 2024. Qualifying petitions are available in the Election Commission office. The deadline for filing certificate of writein candidacy is NOON, May 16, 2024. The deadline to register to vote or change your name or address on an existing registration in person at the Election Commission office or online at GoVoteTN.com is May 27, 2024. Voters who have not notified the Election Commission Office of a name/address change may experience a delay in voting. Mail-in registration applications must be postmarked no later than May 27, 2024.
Voters 60 years old and above, and voters with disabilities may vote early during the regular early voting dates, or by an absentee ballot by mail. Absentee ballots by mail may be requested from Wednesday, March 27, 2024 through Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Any elderly voter or voter with a disability desiring to vote at the Election Commission Office on Election Day, Tuesday, June 25, 2024 must notify the Election Commission Office in writing by Saturday, June 15, 2024. Appropriate forms may be obtained at the Election Commission Office, or by calling 865-992-3471.
